This is how we can help

When you are first told that you or someone you love needs to have a lung transplant, there is often a hunger for information. It can however be difficult to know where to begin and what you need to know.

The good new is that there are many terrific resources available for you.

You are also not alone.

There is a community of people who’ve already gone through it that would like to share their experiences with you and support you too.

As you get to meet others in our community, you will learn that there are many lung transplant patients living well beyond the 7 year average. The 2nd person to have a lung and heart transplant at The Alfred Hospital is still enjoying life after 30 years!

There are hundreds of patients still working, volunteering, and ticking off bucket list items like travelling on overseas holidays.

The following resources are a great place to start, along with the information you may have been given from your own lung transplant specialists.
